Beeswax Seasoned Banksia Serving Board with Goanna

Collected sustainably from the Peel region of Western Australia, this piece has been cut and sanded to a smooth finish by hand. Boasting a minimalist depiction of Western Australian Goanna burnt into the wood on one side, it is a one of a kind creation that will make a wonderful addition to any kitchen.

The wood is from Western Australia’s River Banksia tree. I grew up climbing Banksia trees, as did many Australian children. The texture of the crumbly bark on my hands is etched into the mind.

The beeswax seasoning seals the wood to become completely food safe. The board can safely be used for food preparation and serving, however, the use of sharp utensils such as knives on the side with pyrographic designs is not recommended.
