Description

Plains that roll down to the river,
And from the river, to the sea.
If I were a honey bee,
The National Park is where I’d be.

Looking for some sweet mallee,
If not mallee, a jarrah tree!
And maybe, whilst I’m flying free,
I’d hear the river calling me.

I’d carry pollen, everywhere,
Of flowers that live only there,
And couldn’t be found anywhere,
If not for my great love and care.

And mallee, with the tops like bells,
Would sing to me, a voice that swells.
And from within this lovely flower,
Would come the nectar, any hour!

Sunset falls, a gentle breeze,
As sunlight settles on the trees,
A haven for the honey bees,
Every bee I know agrees.

And from the nectar of this flower,
Comes the fruits of all my labour.
A fruity, rich, delightful taste,
Such sweetness should not go to waste!

The internationally recognised biodiversity hotspot that is Fitzgerald River National Park on the Southern Coast of Western Australia has delivered this exceptional honey of dark fruity flavours. The Bell Fruited Mallee is only found between Albany and Esperance and is one of the 250 extremely rare species of plant that makes the National Park such an international treasure. It is of course then a great pleasure for us to bring this rare honey to you in this Winter 2017 harvest. The bees also took the opportunity to forage on nearby stunted Jarrah trees, which adds to the rich complexity.

Raw and minimally filtered honey from the Southern Coast. We recommend this honey for general use, in particular for desserts or marinades.
